Tata Communications Limited is an Indian telecommunications company, headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It was a government-owned telecommunications service provider before being sold to the Tata Group in 2002 under the Third Vajpayee ministry government. The company provides network, cloud, cybersecurity, media, Internet of Things, collaboration and digital infrastructure services to enterprises and service providers worldwide. It is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange of India. Tata Communications operates a Tier-1 IP network and a wholly owned subsea fibre-optic cable system spanning over 500,000 kilometres.
