Target Corporation, doing business as Target, is an American retail corporation headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Target operates retail stores. The original Target retail store was co-founded by John Geisse and Douglas Dayton in 1962 for Dayton's in Roseville, Minnesota. Dayton's was renamed the Target Corporation in 2000.
